When redecorating a small kitchen, keep your color pallet pale. A pale color pallet will brighten the space and make it appear larger. It is also best to focus on one or two colors to keep the space from appearing busy. Light blue, sea green, white and ivory are all wonderful choice for a small kitchen space.

Do not forget to factor in your lighting situation. It helps create a mood for the room. Bright lights bring positive energy, and they are good choices for bathrooms and kitchens. However, bright lights don’t always work good, especially when you want a room that is a bit more cozy. Instead, install dimmer lights in bedrooms and in the living room to give it an entirely different mood.

Lighting is an important aspect of any design project. There are many ways to get light into any room, such as skylights, windows and even mirrors. Ensuring that these elements work together can brighten up and add interest to a previously dull space and increase its functionality.

Whenever undertaking an interior design project, it is wiser to choose pieces that are timeless rather than trendy. Things of the latest fad will be obsolete within a few years so you are better off decorating your room with items that will stand the test of time. This way you won’t have to constantly keep updating your room.
